Ever interested in reviews of a movie from a Christian's point of view or even just curious to understand where a movie stands as far as your own morality?
Everyone knows that there's a cute animated 3D movie out in theaters that the kids are just dying to see, but no one really knows for sure what the movie is really about. Some animated movies today are made to attract adult audiences more than children, but we might fail to realize that until it is too late. Who really has the time or money to watch a movie beforehand to make sure its safe? Your friends ask you to go out with them to see that movie with your favorite actor, what is it called? You're not even sure you want to see it, but you do know it's a scary movie. So, what can you do to protect yourself and your children from seeing a movie that you might regret seeing afterwards based purely on your own moral standards? Well, there's a website I use called christiananswers.net. It's very useful if you ever run into issues as I described above or others. This site includes a lot of other material related to Christianity as well. It provides biblical answers to contemporary questions, a video and bookstore, as well as entertainment and movie reviews. I recommend this site for people of all ages, Christian or not Christian. Even if you could really care less about reviews or don't think it's necessary to have limitations on related matters, that's ok too! This site is filled with entertainment of all types for all ages. God Bless. I think it is wonderful that more and more people are turning to God for their problems, worries, struggles, and doubts. It is an amazing thing. I encourage you to continue to seek God because I can guarantee you that if you do, he will hear you and he will respond as long as it is in his will to do so.
I encourage you to continue to test your faith even if you never had and see what God can do for you! :) I am guilty of it. I don't do enough to reach out to others or enough to save our future such as recycling or conserving. It can be hard sometimes. So why don't I? Because I sometimes think "eh, I don't count, I'm just one person. How could I possibly make a change just by recycling paper I use on a daily basis?" not true. Every small change makes a huge difference and is a step further into a better lifestyle for everyone. Read about it, research it, and find ways that can help save our future and the future of our children. Here are some facts I found at http://www.dosomething.org/
I wasn't expecting anything. I didn't even expect to cry. Surprised I had even built up the courage to step outside of a single foot perimeter of the stand-still position I was in, I felt there was no turning back. I was already out of the row of seats I sat in during praise and worship. The pastor had just called for people to come to the front if they wished to be healed. I had only seen this in the prior evenings of church camp what that meant. I never actually thought that it would do anything miraculous or spiritual to me. That night I was different. I felt more consumed and alive in the music, I felt like It was the right time to give it a try. The lights were dim and the only thing that could be seen was the band on stage and the glare of the lights against the hands reaching in the air. I remember thinking, out of all of those people in the crowd, I doubted anyone would even notice me, so it lowered my anxiety of walking in front of people by the stage.
I knew that if I went up to the front, the pastor would be around to touch me and pray for me. You always see it towards the end of every service. The pastor finalizes his sermon with it. It was only a common thing to me before the night I actually stepped outside of my little perimeter. The next thing I knew, his hand was on my forehead. A rush of thoughts ran through my mind. I remember feeling hands around my shoulders, on my arms, over my head and in front of my face. It didn't bother me because what was going on inside of my body had me paralyzed. I felt a rush of excitement. It was comparable to feeling like I stripped out of my old cold skin and underneath it, I felt warm, fresh, and renewed. I wanted to smile and laugh but as it was so overwhelming and startling, I began crying my eyes out and falling to the floor. I cried for a good 5 minutes, the music still blaring worship, and laser lights flashing could be seen with my eyes closed still. I wiped my tears, opened my eyes, and stood back up. I did it. I felt amazing. For one, I actually stepped outside of that lazy "comfort zone" of mine and gave it a shot. For two, I actually felt like I had been touched by the holy spirit for the first time. I felt like when I said "Please forgive me for my sins. Please renew me," that it actually was done in those little few seconds. I had a new awareness after that. I felt like I was a new person and from that point on, my plan was to stay that way. I wasn't that girl who walked in before service started. I was a new girl with a new perspective and new love for all things Godly. I'll never forget it! That's my story of when I was saved and found Jesus. Does everyone remember theirs like I do? What's yours? Tabernacle: A habitation, typically of light construction. A tent used as a sanctuary for the Ark of the Covenant by the Israelites. If you haven't learned or read about the original tabernacle, I recommend watching a video or reading a short about it. It's an amazing beginning to a long and almost complicated story. It was a place where God was actually meeting with these people on earth. He hovered over like a cloud during the day and by night he was this awesome column of fire that reached from the earth to the sky almost like a tornado in a standstill that just stood straight up, but made out of fire. The story is fascinating. I actually watched a documentary over it that was so interesting and put everything in perspective that helped me to understand. Illustration by Pat Marvenko Smith Some illustrations that you can google will show you similar types of photos and layouts. Here is a short clip about this amazing story of when God actually came to earth in a sense. Sometimes when I feel like I keep chasing my shadow in circles and like I have no where to go or no one to run to who understands. I turn on some christian music and I just talk to God. I cry out my feelings of pain and emptiness and I just surrender to him. It's the greatest feeling in the world.
It's like he knows how I'm feeling and what I'm going through so I instantly feel his love. It's like he opens his arms and says "it's ok. I love you no matter what." and that's just what I need to hear. Just finished watching "An Inconvenient Truth." It reminded me that I need to start making some slight changes to help save our future.
Al Gore, past vice president under Bill Clinton (1993-2001), made a documentary over global warming. He puts it into the most simple terms and even goes as far as providing a animated short about the effects of global warming and the damages that currently are taking place. Although it was released in 2006, the information provided leaves enough evidence to understand that we are in some pretty serious danger of destroying the earth unless we all take some sort of initiative to make even the smallest of changes. Small changes can be anywhere from turning off a light if you are not in a room or by recycling. There are a number of ways that one can help. To learn more about global warming, I seriously recommend watching "An Inconvenient Truth." |
Meet Me I am a true Christian at heart that's striving to make it through this crazy life with God by my side. I know that somewhere out there, my site will help someone who like me, once had the disposition to fall away from Christianity before I was saved. Archives
